Everything You Need to Make Your Easter Table Shine

Share Post:

So a few more days, and the Easter festivities will be upon us…

Easter egg hunts, families heading off to church in their Sunday best and large family meals where we all gather around the dinner table.

But, if you are the one who is in charge this year – and by “in charge”, I mean you are the one making the main meal – then this is the post for you!

We can start by adding a few decorative touches to the table, because we all know that a pretty place setting always makes you feel special…which, in turn, somehow makes the food taste better.  Add some fresh flowers, some cute bunny displays and some colourful linens and you have a table that is so beautiful, you won’t even notice if you’ve missed a few things.

Table Scaping:Everything You Need to Make Your Easter Table Shine

The trick to table scaping, is to keep things simple and keep colours relatively easy on the eye.  Go with greens and yellows (think lots of green leafy touches and yellow tulips or daffodils), or purple and pinks (make use of some pink and purple jelly beans and peeps in cute bowls as well as bright pink Gerbera daisies) or just stick with neutral earth tones by implementing some burlap, forced branches in lieu of flowers and lots of brown and beige coloured linens like this.

Do What You Know and Take the Complicated Out of Your Holiday:

And, when it comes to cooking your Easter feast, it’s not as big a deal as you might think. Sometimes, it’s just about doing what you know (and by “what you know”, I mean “cook what you’re good at”).

Why not start the spring conversation with these easy carrot cheeseballs? they are super easy and will have everyone talking about your kitchen skills 😉

For example, when we think about Easter, the traditional main dishes are ham or lamb. But, even though cooking a big hunk of meat is relatively easy, sometimes, breaking it down into small pieces (literally) is easier to get your head around.

Like these Rosemary skewered lamb kebabs are an interesting take on a traditional leg of lamb.  It is easier to style (here we placed them on a bed of chives, mimicking spring grass) as well as easier for your guests to serve themselves!

And, instead of mashed potatoes, why not try these cute potato stacks? When you go to the link, you can also see an alternative to make them into roses too…so pretty!!

If you would like to try your hand at a roast (especially a lean cut), wrap it in some bacon and you will never over cook it (and it will stay moist!!).

And if fish is an important component to your Easter table (or if you are having you dinner on Good Friday, which is always a meatless meal), you can whip this shrimp with linguine in a flash.

You can make these cute orange and green chocolate “carrots”…(just melt coloured chocolate melts, place the melted mixture in strong ziploc bags, snip the ends and squeeze out the shapes onto parchment)…once they’re cooled, you can add them to some treat jars…
