Christmas: Getting Creative with the Season!

Share Post:

So we are nearing the last week before Christmas…

Yes, you heard me…7 more days.

But, don’t worry.  I have a few things up my sleeve that will save you on Christmas day.

Take a peek below for the latest ideas to grace my Instagram page (if you follow me already, so sorry for the multiple exposure…just making sure it REALLY sinks in!!)

Why not grab a bar of really good milk chocolate (many of them are on sale now!)…melt it in the microwave and pour it into small molds – like these cute Christmas Tree molds I found – and top with either a drizzle of melted white chocolate or chopped pistachios and dried cranberries!

How about putting together a few jars of Christmas Potpourri (a handful of cranberries, a couple of cinnamon sticks, a handful of cloves and the skin of an orange); seal it up in a jar and give away with directions to place contents into a pot of water and simmer until the house smells glorious!!

Set your table in a fun way if you have teeny visitors for Christmas…they’ll love it!!

Grab a ball of pizza dough, roll it out, connect the ends to form a circle, slice pieces (as shown above) with scissors and pull out slightly…add some cherry tomatoes and parsley, bake until golden and you have a lovely and yummy conversation starter!! (see picture in opening for finished product).

You’ve heard of chocolate truffles?  Well why not goat cheese truffles?  Just roll a teaspoon of goat cheese into a ball, roll into a variety of coatings (ie; smoked paprika, poppy seeds, chopped herbs, sunflower seeds) and poke with a pretzel stick!

Or you can mix some chopped black olives into the goat cheese, form into a candy cane shape, use roasted peppers to make stripes and serve with crackers!

Look out for a post coming to the blog later today on how to make a Gingerbread Smoothie as well as these gingerbread wonton crisps!

Aren’t these Christmas tree cucumbers cute?  Just slice with a vegetable peeler and fold into a tree shape.  Skewer with a toothpick (these ones had stars on top…perfect for the tree, right?) and place on a square of toasted bread!

And we can’t forget healthy!  These Apple Wreaths are simply apple rings slathered with natural peanut butter and topped with chopped pistachios and dried cherries!

Are there any fun ideas that you’ve tried that you would like to share?  Leave a comment in the sections below…I’d love to hear from you!!
